A destination wedding in Switzerland designed for international couples, between an alpine lake, a panoramic ceremony, and an elegant reception at Villa Honegg.

Villa Honegg: a spectacular setting for a wedding in Switzerland

Perched above Lake Lucerne, Villa Honegg embodies the understated elegance and natural power that make Swiss weddings so renowned. With its alpine panorama, suspended terrace facing the mountains, and intimate atmosphere, the venue offers a rare balance: spectacular without being ostentatious.

For international couples dreaming of a destination wedding in Switzerland, Villa Honegg allows them to imagine a celebration that is exclusive, minimalist, and deeply connected to the landscape. Here, nature is not just a backdrop: it becomes the theme for the entire day.

Imagine a wedding in Switzerland as a true narrative

For this editorial at Villa Honegg, we wanted to tell a story that was much more than just a series of moments. The idea was to imagine a wedding in Switzerland as a fluid narrative, where each stage (from the spa to dinner, from the first look to the private vows) flows naturally into the next.

Johanna and Stefan weren't looking for a spectacular celebration. They dreamed of an intimate wedding in Switzerland, surrounded by a few close friends and family, where the alpine landscape and Lake Lucerne would play as big a part as the emotion itself. In this type of destination wedding, luxury lies not in accumulation, but in the experience: taking the time to breathe and feel.

Morning at the spa, a break with a view of the Swiss mountains

The day begins peacefully in the spa at Villa Honegg. Before the preparations and intense emotions begin, Johanna and Stefan take a moment to pause, almost suspended in time.

Wrapped in fur coats provided by the hotel, they step outside to take in the view. The sky is slightly overcast, the diffused light softening the Alpine peaks and enveloping Lake Lucerne in a delicate mist. In Switzerland, the weather is an integral part of the atmosphere: even without bright sunshine, the landscape remains powerful, cinematic, and deeply inspiring.

Starting the day with a moment of relaxation allows for natural, elegant, and above all, sincere images to be created. Here, luxury means calm, space, and connection to the landscape.

Through the corridors to the private cinema

After the tranquility of the spa, the energy shifts. Johanna and Stefan walk through the elegant corridors of Villa Honegg laughing, almost like two teenagers running away. This spontaneous moment brings movement to the narrative and deliberately breaks with more traditional wedding conventions.

Incorporating these unexpected moments allows us to recount a lively, modern wedding day, far from a overly formal proceedings. The venue becomes an elegant playground, where each space plays a part in the story.

A movie interlude: La La Land, popcorn, and camaraderie

In the private cinema at Villa Honegg, the atmosphere becomes intimate and warm. La La Land plays in the background, a deliberate nod to the romantic, cinematic world they love.

The lighting is darker, more contrasting. We play with the flash to create photos that are both spontaneous and editorial, capturing the energy of the moment while maintaining a controlled aesthetic.

Popcorn in hand, Johanna and Stefan have fun, dancing between the rows, letting themselves be carried away by the music. There is nothing formal about this moment. It reflects who they are: spontaneous, close, deeply sincere.

These moments add an extra dimension to their day. They remind us that a wedding, even against a spectacular backdrop, is above all a personal story, made up of simple memories, shared laughter, and genuine emotions.

Portrait of the groom facing the hotel and the landscape

Once ready, Stefan steps outside the hotel for a few moments. Behind him, the panorama opens up, vast and silent. A very light rain floats in the air, almost imperceptible, adding texture and character to the images.

These outdoor portraits of the groom have a special significance. They mark the transition between the preparations and the ceremony. The structured suit contrasts with the raw nature, creating an aesthetic that is both modern and timeless.

We work with natural light here, playing with the relief of the sky and the depth of the landscape. Some images are taken on the spot, others are slightly more composed, to create a balance between spontaneity and sophistication.

Portraits of the bride before the first look

While Stefan savors his last moments of calm, Johanna enjoys some time alone outside on the hotel terrace. The surrounding trees, adorned with orange and gold hues, give the setting a unique autumnal warmth.

Johanna stands there in her wedding dress, excitement evident in her eyes: impatience and joy at the thought of Stefan seeing her. Each portrait captures her elegance, her emotion, and her anticipation of this unique moment, telling her story before she met Stefan.

First look on the terrace: emotion and complicity

Stefan waits for the first look, his heart racing at the thought of seeing Johanna. The surrounding trees, dressed in shades of orange and gold, envelop the scene in an intimate and warm autumnal atmosphere.

When Johanna appears, her dress unfolding gracefully, time seems to stand still. Their eyes meet, and a deep emotion bursts forth: surprise, tenderness, and complicity mingle in this unique and personal moment, shared only between the two of them.

Every gesture, every smile tells their story and transforms this first look into a precious memory. The moment captures the intimacy, anticipation, and magic of an intimate wedding in the heart of the Swiss mountains, where landscape and emotions come together with naturalness and elegance.

The ceremony: a precious and intimate moment

The moment of the ceremony has arrived. The decor is deliberately minimalist, with every detail carefully chosen to highlight the emotion of the moment and the natural beauty of the setting. The officiant, speaking in German, their native language, guides Johanna and Stefan through simple and sincere words, making this moment deeply personal and authentic.

When the couple exchanges rings, the emotion is at its peak. Their eyes meet, their hands join, and everything seems to hang perfectly in the air: an intimate, timeless moment where every gesture tells their story. Each moment reflects the couple's bond and the strength of their commitment.

Bride's preparations: a private moment

After the ceremony, Johanna goes to her suite to change her wedding dress. Her makeup artist and hairstylist touch up her makeup and create a second hairstyle, a chignon, for the rest of the day. It is a truly calm and intimate moment of preparation before she rejoins Stefan and their loved ones.

Stationery and bridal jewelry

The stationery is simple and very elegant, with a logo featuring the initials of the bride and groom on each item. The envelopes and invitations are beautifully presented, accompanied by a few minimalist gold jewelry pieces chosen by the bride, reflecting her taste for simplicity and elegance. The result is a harmonious and refined ensemble, where every detail contributes to the coherence and beauty of the shoot, while highlighting the couple's personal style.

Portraits of the bride and groom on the balcony

After the preparations, Johanna and Stefan share a moment together on the balcony of their suite, with the Swiss landscape as a backdrop. The portraits capture their closeness and the tenderness of this intimate, simple, and natural moment.

The bride and groom then leave their suite and head outside, taking the elevator and stairs of the hotel. Along the way, a few portraits of the couple are taken with flash, combining spontaneity and elegance, with images that also capture their passage in the elevator, adding a modern and intimate touch to the reportage.

As a duo, we like to create this complementarity in our reportage: classic and timeless images, natural and elegant, are mixed with more modern and editorial portraits, offering a complete and refined vision of the day.

Exchange of vows with the Swiss mountains as a backdrop

The bride and groom chose to share their vows alone, away from their guests, on the grass. The Swiss mountains and lake stretch out behind them, providing a natural and majestic setting for this precious moment. Alone together, Johanna and Stefan exchange their vows in complete intimacy, taking the time to make strong and sincere promises to each other for their union.

Their happiness and complicity shine through in every image, making these photos particularly moving and memorable. By simply letting themselves be carried away by the moment and spontaneity, it is this happiness that brings the images to life.

Candy bar

Meanwhile, guests enjoy a sweet break at a simple and elegant candy bar. A few delicate treats add a lighthearted and convivial touch to the day, in keeping with the intimate spirit of the wedding.

Table decoration

The dinner table reflects the simplicity and elegance of the wedding. Wooden tables and chairs, minimalist decor, and touches of white create a refined atmosphere without overloading the space. A few personalized ribbons mark the places and add a subtle touch of detail.

The newlyweds discover their table and take a moment to pose for a few photos in a natural and relaxed atmosphere before sharing the meal with their loved ones.

End of the day in complete harmony

Dinner comes to an end, and the newlyweds return to their suite for a few moments of relaxation and fun. Between laughter and pillow fights, this moment concludes the day on a lighthearted and spontaneous note, true to the intimate spirit of their wedding.

Tips for making the most of your wedding

  • Plan a first look or a moment alone together: Even a few minutes alone before the ceremony will allow you to fully experience your bond. These moments offer intimate and sincere images, away from the gaze of your guests, which tell your story in an authentic and elegant way.

  • Be yourselves: Laughter, spontaneous gestures, little mishaps... these are the natural moments that make photos lively and emotionally powerful. The more relaxed and genuine you are, the more your images will reflect your personality and happiness. Enjoy your wedding by being yourselves.

  • Set aside a private moment for your vows if you are shy: Even if the idea of speaking in front of all your guests intimidates you, it is possible to slip away for a few moments on your wedding day to exchange your vows in private. These intimate moments provide precious memories and images of rare sincerity, capturing your emotions away from prying eyes.
